The 1999 Assembly approved the following statement on taking a corporate stand: “To empower the Leadership Team to make a corporate stance in the name of the Congregation on major human rights violations and to encourage all Sisters to be public witnesses for non-violence.”
Individual Sisters were asked about their acceptance of the corporate stance. There was an overwhelming number of Sisters supporting the stance.
