CPPS Sisters’ Craft Showcased in Dayton Daily News

Sisters of the Precious Blood at Salem Heights were recently tapped by the Dayton Daily News for a demonstration of the ancient art of palm weaving, traditionally done with blessed palms from Palm Sunday.

The feature and photos were published in the paper’s March 28 LIFE section on page 15.

Religion reporter Meredith Moss and DDN photographer Jan Underwood visited the convent to see a group of sisters in action making various palm creations. The CPPS palm weavers included Sisters Regina Albers, Barbara Jean Backs, Helen Theresa Fleischman, Noreen Jutte, Rosemary Laux, Adeline Mertz, Catherine Nader, Hedwig Mary Stammen and Rose Ann Winkeljohn.
