CPPS’ Historic Ties to Cincinnati Celebrated at 175th Anniversary Event
CINCINNATI — On Nov. 15, more than 275 well-wishers and Precious Blood Sisters filled St. Margaret Mary Church in Cincinnati’s North College Hill neighborhood to offer thanksgiving for God’s blessings and CPPS ministry in the region.

Historic California Mission is Site of Festive CPPS Anniversary Weekend
Beginning in the late 1920s, numerous teenage girls attended the high school aspirancy of the Sisters of the Precious Blood. Over the years, many of these young women went on to become sisters. Others moved into different walks of life.

GLANDORF, Ohio — The Labor Day weekend marked a gala twin celebration in the village of Glandorf, Ohio: the 175th anniversary of the foundation of the village (by emigrants from the city of the same name in Germany) and its St. John the Baptist Church, and the 175th anniversary of the founding of the Sisters of the Precious Blood, with historic ties to the area since their arrival in America.

From Near and Far, more than 500 Attend Anniversary Mass and Picnic at Maria Stein
MARIA STEIN – With a bright sun overhead (and 90-degree temperatures providing a sizzle factor), close to 500 people filled the grounds of the Maria Stein Center on Sunday, Aug. 16, for a Mass and picnic to help the Sisters of the Precious Blood celebrate their 175th anniversary at this historic and memory-filled site.

In Phoenix, True Southwestern Fiesta marks CPPS Anniversary
PHOENIX — No commemoration of the 175th anniversary of the congregation’s founding would be complete without a remembrance and celebration in the U.S. Southwest. In a somewhat adapted version of the era’s popular invitation, the Sisters of the Precious Blood did, indeed, “Go West, young sisters, go West!” Their impetus, though, was not panning for gold or homesteading for land, but service to God’s people.

175th Anniversary Opens with Lecture Series, Ritual, Eucharistic Celebration
DAYTON— The Sisters of the Precious Blood began their 175th anniversary year the weekend of Jan. 17-18 with a round of celebrations for the public and the congregation’s members.

Sharing & Caring Receives National Catholic Press Award
ANAHEIM, Calif. — Sharing & Caring, the quarterly newsletter of the Sisters of the Precious Blood, recently received a top national award from the Catholic Press Association of the United States and Canada. Sharing & Caring was awarded Second Place for Best Feature Article — one of only three awards presented in this category – in the classification of Special Interest Newsletters (which includes those of religious congregations).
