CAN YOU IMAGINE?! – This happened in 1936 as our class was being checked by the organist, Sister Prisca. Sister had each of us to sing to check our voices. When Sister Alice Geers came and sang, Sister said, “You sound like a dishpan with a hole in it!” Needless to say we, the class of 1936, never let Sister live that one down! But Sister was admitted to the choir anyway. They needed us as we were a small class of eight.
SILENCE IS GOLDEN – NOT (Tee-Hee-Hee )As usual there was silence at meal time and scripture reading. It was at Christmastime: Sister Lewine was doing the table reading. She read the whole world was being rolled (instead of enrolled), needless to say, that was the end of silence. We all laughed. It seemed so funny!
